ABS-CBN stands by ‘It’s Showtime’ to retain its regular timeslot of 12 noon.
Following the entry of TVJ on TV5 and its Chairman Manny Pangilinan’s statement that they have already committed the noontime slot to ‘Eat Bulaga!’ OG trio, Tito, Vic, and Joey, ABS-CBN made the decision of taking ‘It’s Showtime’ to a new home which is GMA Network’s GTV Channel.
In its official statement released on Tuesday, June 20, ABS-CBN confirmed that ‘It’s Showtime’ will no longer air on TV5 starting July 1.
“With the new programming movements in TV5, we are sad to announce that ‘It’s Showtime’ will no longer be seen on TV5 beginning 1 July 2023.”
ABS-CBN also revealed that they have respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for ‘It’s Showtime.’
“For 14 years, ‘It’s Showtime’ has brought joy and entertainment to our Madlang People here and abroad. We value the meaningful relationship we have built and nurtured with our audience in the noontime slot. It is for this reason that we have respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for the show.”
ABS-CBN, meanwhile, shared its heartfelt thanks to MVP for accommodating ‘It’s Showtime’ for almost a year.
“ABS-CBN would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan for his support for ABS-CBN and for bringing ‘It’s Showtime’ to a wider audience through our content partnership.”
To reassure the Madlang People, ABS-CBN emphasized that they will not stop bringing fun and laughter to their viewers. ‘It’s Showtime’ will continue to air on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC as the show embarks on a new partnership with GMA Network’s GTV.
“We assure the viewers of ‘It’s Showtime’ that they can continue to watch their favorite noontime show on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon.”
The network also expressed gratitude to GTV for providing a new home for the show, stating, “We are also very grateful to GMA’s GTV Channel and happy to announce that ‘It’s Showtime’ has found another home. Starting July 1, 2023, ‘It’s Showtime’ will also be aired on GTV from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon. G na G na tayo, Madlang People!”
ABS-CBN concluded by expressing appreciation to GMA Network and hoping that the show will continue to bring joy and entertainment to its loyal viewers.
