On January 22, Star Magic artist Harvey Bautista discussed his journey from Goin’ Bulilit to becoming one of the leads in Zoomers.

At the media conference for Zoomers, which LionhearTV covered, Bautista recalled walking around ABS-CBN Studios 4 and 5 when he was younger for Goin’ Bulilit.

He then talked about getting his role in Zoomers.

“I play Jigz, siyempre isa po sa mga Zoomers. I play an aspiring filmmaker, that has personal problems. And siyempre ang love interest ko dito ay si Hope, played by Criza.”

He then described getting the lead role with the newest Kapamilya youth-oriented show as ‘overwhelming.’

“Yes, it’s overwhelming, but yeah, all of us here, not just me. Hindi naman sa nakuha na, siyempre an audition is still an audition.”

He also appreciated the amount of trust he got when he landed one of the five leading roles in Zoomers.

“Speaking for myself, very overwhelming, ‘yung that second day of audition and we have done every scene and sinasabi sa amin na parang okay, settle down, isasalang na kayo in a bit, you are going to know your roles. And then sinalang kami doon sa harap. And then ina-announce sa amin ‘yung roles.

“Kumbaga parang nun umuwi na kami eh. It felt like, for me, I had this– we had to celebrate the fact na nakuha namin yung five major roles kasi it really was a big deal na pinagkakatiwalaan kami nila Direk Lauren, Direk Ted, and Direk Chad with this responsibility of leading the show. Kumbaga ‘yung parang Gimik of this generation. So overwhelming pero let’s go guys.”

As for their Kapamilya primetime series, Zoomers stars Harvey Bautista, Criza Taa, Analain Salvador, Ashton Salvador, and Luke Alford.

The cast features Star Magic artists Ralph De Leon, Krystl Ball, Erika Davis, Luis Vera Perez, Kei Kurosawa, Hadiyah Santos, Redd Arcega, Noelle Martinex, Reich Alim, Jay-R Albino, Matthew Cruz, Omar Udin, and Zabel Lamberth.

Under the direction of Chad Vidanes, Zoomers airs after Can’t Buy Me Love at 10:15 PM on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5, with episode streaming via ABS-CBN Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
