In the wake of actress Ria Atayde’s engagement to fellow actor Zanjoe Marudo, rumors have emerged suggesting that she may be expecting a child.
However, Atayde’s sister, Gela Atayde, has stepped forward to dispel these speculations.
In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, Gela Atayde clarified that there is no truth to the pregnancy rumors surrounding her sister. She revealed that Ria has been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a condition that can make conception challenging.
Despite the challenges posed by PCOS, Gela emphasized that Ria and Zanjoe are eager to start a family. She acknowledged that Ria, who is turning 32 this year, is at an age where motherhood is a consideration.
“For me I can’t say much yet. For now, no. They’re trying that’s for sure. My sister has PCOS and it would be a miracle if she has a child. Well, at least my parents also are supportive for that my sister nga kasi is at the age — turning 32 this year medyo kailangan na din,” Gela stated.
Gela also shared details about Zanjoe’s proposal to Ria, describing it as a heartfelt and intimate moment. She expressed her happiness upon learning about the engagement and praised Zanjoe for his sincerity.
The couple has not yet announced their wedding date, leaving fans curious about the timing of their nuptials. Ria and Zanjoe confirmed their engagement in February, following months of speculation about their relationship.
This engagement comes after Zanjoe’s courtship of Ria, which was first revealed by screen veteran Sylvia Sanchez in October 2022. Zanjoe publicly confirmed his relationship with Ria in January 2023.
