Before their engagement, celebrity couple Kim Molina and Jerald Napoles endured a rollercoaster of breakups and reconciliations—three times, to be exact.
Now in the middle of planning their destination wedding, the couple opened up about their past struggles and why they always found their way back to each other.
During the press conference for their upcoming film, ‘Un-Ex You,’ Kim and Jerald reflected on their past breakups and makeups, revealing that one of their reconciliations happened right after filming a bed scene.
In a candid moment, Kim shared how their longtime friendship and deep understanding of each other played a key role in their on-and-off relationship.
“He knows me more than I know myself,” Kim said. “When I feel lost, he’s always there to look for me, kaya siguro ako bumabalik.”
She then detailed their three breakups: First Breakup – During their time in the musical Rak of Aegis (2014), they parted ways but found themselves drawn back together. Second Breakup – After three months apart, Kim dated again—only to find herself back in Jerald’s arms. Third Breakup – This happened during the shoot of their film Ikaw at Ako at ang Ending (2021), where they split due to personal issues. However, a bed scene the next day reignited their connection, and they reconciled.
Kim laughed as she recalled the moment, saying: “Nag-break kami, pero kinabukasan may bed scene—nagkabalikan kami!”
Jerald also chimed in, joking about why he could never let go of Kim: “Masarap… masarap kasama si Kim!”
Despite their tumultuous past, Kim and Jerald emphasized that mutual respect, understanding, and friendship have kept them together.
Kim explained that their relationship works because they give each other space despite living together.
“We live together but have separate rooms,” she revealed. “We both grew up independent, and we understand the importance of personal space.”
Jerald agreed, adding: “Partnership ito, pero dapat may oras din para sa sarili mo.”
The couple will soon hit the big screen in ‘Un-Ex You’, a romantic comedy-drama about a woman desperate to have a child and her ex-boyfriend suffering from amnesia.
Kim plays Zuri, a 35-year-old logistics business owner diagnosed with premature menopause, prompting her to seek a decent man to father her child. She then turns to her ex, Andy (Jerald), who lives in a remote town called Sitio Halúpi after suffering amnesia from an accident abroad.
While Andy no longer remembers her, Zuri is determined to rekindle their past relationship and have a child with him.
Directed by RC Delos Reyes, the film also stars Candy Pangilinan, Jaja Disuanco, Kyosu Guinto, Bob Jbeili, and Marnie Lapus.
With over 20 million views across social media for its teaser scene, ‘Un-Ex You’ is expected to be a major hit when it premieres in cinemas nationwide on April 9, 2025.
