Manila Fashion Week Day 3 Blends Edge and Emotion Through Distinct Visions from Iñigo and DBTK

The third day of Manila Fashion Week 2025 captured the synergy between contemporary fashion and culture with Iñigo and DBTK taking center stage — two labels redefining how Filipino creativity translates to global relevance.

Opening at the Fashion Tent, Iñigo presented a collection that merged sculptural forms with fluidity, creating an atmosphere both introspective and avant-garde. His work channeled narrative through design — a meditation on self-expression, identity, and artistry.

At Samsung Hall, DBTK (Don’t Blame The Kids) closed the night with unapologetic energy, presenting a lineup that celebrated Filipino streetwear in its purest form. Layered, conceptual, and confident, DBTK’s showcase honored the brand’s community-driven ethos and its journey from grassroots culture to the main stage of fashion.

We sat down with both Iñigo and DBTK to talk about their creative inspirations and what it means to bring their distinct voices to Manila Fashion Week.

Iñigo DBTK
What inspired the theme of this collection and why did you choose for it to be your showcased collection for the inaugural season of MNL Fashion Week?  The inspiration behind this collection is rooted in the limelight — commanding attention, movement, and versatility.

Having grown up on stage as a dancer, these elements were second nature to me as a performer. With this collection, I wanted to translate those same qualities into garments, bringing performance to fashion through fluidity, presence, and emotion.

Staying true to my personal design style, I also incorporated new techniques we’re currently exploring and refining in the studio. I envisioned what my muses would look like if they were stepping into the spotlight — from elevated looks to wearable statement pieces that embody confidence and artistry.

I chose this collection to debut at MNL Fashion Week because it feels deeply personal. It represents a full-circle moment — taking the world I once knew as a performer and expressing it in a different medium. It symbolizes metamorphosis and the beautiful way art forms can evolve and intersect, creating something entirely new, yet still connected to their roots.

Our theme for this debut show is inspired by DBTK’s 13-year journey — from our roots in streetwear to where we are today. When we received the invitation to join Manila Fashion Week, it felt special because brands like ours rarely get the chance to be part of these kinds of events. That moment made me realize that this was the perfect opportunity to tell our story — why we started, how far we’ve come, and what keeps us moving. “Folding Dreams Into Flight” is a reflection of that journey — a story of growth, curiosity, and purpose.
What message or feeling do you hope audiences take away from your presentation tonight/today? I want the audience to fully absorb every detail — from the intricate fabric manipulations to the hand-stitched embellishments. More than just seeing the garments, I want them to feel them.

I hope they sense how each look was confidently carried by my models and muses, as if boldly selling the garment through presence alone. My goal is for every piece to command attention — to give the audience a taste of the limelight, where every detail on the runway demands to be seen and remembered.

We want people to feel inspired — to see that streetwear can go beyond what most expect. It’s not just about clothes; it’s about storytelling, raw ideas, and authenticity. Through this show, I hope the audience feels the heart behind what we do — that creativity has no boundaries, and that dreams can take flight no matter where you start.
