AC Soriano fires back at Slater Young over past podcast remark

Content creator AC Soriano stirred online buzz after addressing a previous remark by engineer and former reality show winner Slater Young during a recent podcast appearance.

In an episode of ‘Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast’, Soriano recalled an earlier comment attributed to Young at the time when she and her co-host Yani were starting their podcast ‘Gabi ng Bading’ during the pandemic.

“Oo tapos nagalit si Slater,” Soriano said, prompting laughter from the hosts and audience.

When asked what Young allegedly said, Soriano responded, “Not everyone needs a podcast. Namo. Di lahat kailangan ng bahay sa forest. Hayop ka.”

She added, “Tapos aalis-alis ka ng Pilipinas.”

Soriano’s remarks appeared to reference both the earlier podcast comment and the controversy surrounding Young’s real estate project, Monterrazas de Cebu, which had been linked to flooding concerns and prompted scrutiny from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) over possible environmental impacts such as runoff and erosion.

Co-host Yani explained that while Young did not mention names at the time, they took the statement personally.

“Hindi namin alam kung para sa amin ‘yun [pero sinalo] namin,” she said.

Yani also described how Young’s remark became a motivating factor for them during their podcast journey.

“Talagang yun ang fuel ni AC, [si] Slater Young. So all throughout ng podcast namin, si Slater Young para siyang apparition,” she shared.

The exchange quickly gained traction online, with netizens expressing mixed reactions. Some supported Soriano for speaking out, while others questioned the context of Young’s original statement and whether it was directed at anyone in particular.

Young has yet to issue a response regarding Soriano’s recent comments.
