Gabby shared that he’s currently prioritizing shoots for his drama series with GMA Network
53-year-old veteran actor Gabby Concepcion had to decline a pending reunion movie offer with ex-wife and Kapamilya host Sharon Cuneta. In an interview with PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal), he said the reasons behind the shelving of the project.
Gabby revealed that he was not satisfied with the materials presented to him by the staff. He said that he always prefer to check the script and plot of an offer before he agrees to star in it.
“Wala akong nakitang istorya. Puro synopsis.
“Maganda kung may istorya, tapos from there, puwede nang baguhin.”
In addition, Gabby confessed that he wants to show courtesy to GMA Network. It wouldn’t look good to see him in a rival network’s project when he’s currently headlining a teleserye in GMA Network.
“Ika-6 Na Utos” stays on top of the ratings game in the afternoon block of the network. This is something Gabby remains thankful for.
“Nahihiya ako sa Seven na gagawa ako sa kabila.
“Although meron si Dingdong [Dantes], gumagawa naman din.
“Pero ako, bagong pasok ako.
“So, I just felt na ayokong mawala yung momentum ng Seven, na kauumpisa lang namin, tapos bigla akong gagawa sa iba.”
Gabby just signed a two-year contract with GMA on August last year. He was a Kapamilya for more than two decades.
