Francis Faulve reports on the rising malnutrition rates among Filipino children in “Patrol ng Pilipino”

While poverty is still a leading cause of malnutrition in the country, experts note that even young, economically able Filipinos are suffering from the health problem mainly due to their unhealthy eating habits.

Tomorrow (July 10) in “Patrol ng Pilipino,” ABS-CBN news reporter Francis Faulve will report on the rising malnutrition rates among children aged eleven to 19 years old for the current affairs program’s special Nutrition Month episode.

Research indicates that malnutrition, a condition in which a person does not get adequate calories and proper nutrients for maintenance and growth, has a negative impact on the learning process and cognitive performance of a child.

How tough is it for children to maintain a healthy diet? How can they be influenced to eat nutritious food and adopt a healthy lifestyle?

Meanwhile, Dominic Almelor will expose areas in Metro Manila where residents live in potentially unsafe places that are at risk especially this rainy season. Last week, heavy rains triggered the collapse of an adobe wall on shanties in Valenzuela City and killed two.

Know the stories behind the news in “Patrol ng Pilipino” tomorrow (July 10) after “Bandila” on ABS-CBN or watch it earlier on DZMM TeleRadyo (SkyCable Channel 26), 9:15 p.m.
