Actress and TV host Kim Chiu expressed frustration over the escalating tension and chaos surrounding the Senate following the attempted serving of an arrest warrant against Senator Ronald dela Rosa.

On her X account, Kim reposted a video report from ABS-CBN News showing the commotion that unfolded inside the Senate on the evening of May 13.
“Grabe! Anong nangyayari sa Pilipinas?” Kim wrote.
Although she did not directly mention Dela Rosa by name, many netizens believed the actress was referring to the senator, who is facing an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court in connection with the Duterte administration’s controversial anti-drug campaign.
Kim then shared her opinion on the situation, suggesting that the incident could have been avoided if the person involved voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
“Bilang normal na Pilipino at nagbabayad ng tamang buwis, sa aking opinyon, walang mangyayaring ganito kung kusang susuko ang taong nagsasabing wala siyang kasalanan,” she stated.
The actress also questioned whether the public was satisfied with the kind of leadership being displayed by elected officials.
“Pangalawa at huli, eto ba ang binoto niyong senador na nagsasabing magsisilbi sa ating bayan?” she added.
Kim ended her statement by encouraging Filipinos to reflect carefully on their choices during elections.
“Panahon na para pag-isipan natin na bumoto ng tama,” she said.
The actress has previously been vocal about social and political issues online, often sharing her thoughts despite anticipating criticism from some netizens.
