May 10, 2014 (WORLDWIDE HOUSE, HONGKONG) – The Filipino Channel (TFC), through TFC Load-n-Watch powered by Cloudfone is set to bring the Philippines’ top-rating variety show “It’s Showtime’s” successful segment, “Stars on 45,” to Hong Kong. TFC will bring “Stars on 45” to HK as part of TFC Load-n-Watch’s weekend event on May 11 at the Worldwide House and as part of TFC’s 20th anniversary year-long offering. As its 20th anniversary theme promises, “Stars on 45” will honor the galing or bring out the great Pinoy talents in HK.
Twelve finalists aged 45 and above who were picked from different Filipino organizations in HK will compete for the title of “Stars on 45: Hong Kong Edition” Champion. The winner will receive HK$5,000, a chance to be featured in one of TFC’s shows, and a brand new TFC Load-n-Watch device. The finalists are: Josephine Bigata (OFW HK Singers Association), Lowelyn Adu (Sarranetas HK – Ilocos Norte Association), Jane Suba (Dapwa Association), Fely Forges (Vigan Assocation), Christina Intia (The Voices HK group), Teresa Villabos (St. Joseph Church – FCG), Isabel Siagan, Lenie Genese (Lamtin Church group), Ismaelita Macajeto (Hikers Group), Carmelita Gonzales (Migrant Workers Association), Liza Parantar (Twin Ann Salon Group) and Rosario Kilakiga (Visayas, Mindanao Dance Ensemble).
Like the actual segment of “It’s Showtime,” each finalist will perform two songs: one from the 80’s and another from the year 2000 up to the present. Two judges or hurados will then give out scores ranging from one to ten – ten being the highest and one, the lowest. The audience will also be able to participate as they will be given a set of score cards to help the hurados judge each contestant after each performance.
