Veteran actress Carmi Martin felt a mix of sadness and happiness as she returned to ABS-CBN’s main building, which she said is set to close ahead of its demolition.

In an Instagram post on August 13, Martin shared a video from inside the iconic building and reminisced about the projects and memories she had accumulated there over the years.
“Hi! Here at ABS-CBN… naku napakarami kong memories dito dahil nu’ng bumalik ang ABS-CBN, bumalik din ako sa pag-aartista ko, doing ‘Chika Chika Chicks’. And now guesting for ‘Oh My Gan’ to promote ang ‘Sigabo’,” Martin said.
Her latest visit was for a guest appearance to promote ‘Sigabo,’ but the occasion became bittersweet after she learned about the building’s impending closure.
“Just to find out, na next week pala ay isasara na ito at mag-i-start nang i-demolish soon. So, kind of feeling sad pero happy at the same time na nandito ako ngayon,” she shared.
The news prompted Martin to reflect on the role ABS-CBN has played throughout her decades-long career.
Despite her sadness over the reported demolition, the actress expressed gratitude for the opportunities, relationships and experiences she gained from her years with the network.
“Thank you, ABS-CBN, for the memories, the opportunities, the friendships, the lessons, and for being such a huge part of my journey for so many years,” Martin wrote.
Rather than treating the moment as a final farewell, Martin said she looks forward to what comes next.
“This is not goodbye forever. This is simply ‘see you in the next chapter’,” she said.
