November 12, 2014 (QUEZON CITY, PHILIPPINES) – The coaches of the Philippines’ top-rating and Twitter-trending “The Voice of the Philippines” season two, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo Mañalac, Lea Salonga and Apl de Ap continue to build their strong teams in the exciting continuation of the blind auditions aired on The Filipino Channel (TFC) worldwide last November 8 and 9, Saturday and Sunday (November 9 and 10, Sunday and Monday Australian Daylight Savings Time or ADST, and New Zealand Daylight Savings Time or NZDT, and November 8 and 10, Saturday and Monday Guam time).

During the two-night blind auditions of the twitter-trending competition, Coach Geronimo eagerly turned for a 16-year old daughter of a school administrator in Sultan Kudarat (Mindanao, Philippines), Demie Fresco, who gave her sweet yet powerful rendition of the Regine Velasquez hit, “Ikaw.”

Geronimo also pushed her button for French-Filipina singer, Vanessa Monot, who dedicated her performance of Yeng Constantino’s “Pangarap Lang” to her late father who has always been supportive of her daughter’s talents. Geronimo was the only coach who turned for Monot while Apl showed his dismay after seeing the beautiful singer. Coach Apl even gave Monot a rose and told Geronimo, “I might steal her from you,” a sign of the new twist that is yet to come during the battle rounds. Before joining “The Voice of the Philippines,” Monot shared her talent in different fund-raising events and contests in Europe. In 2013, she organized a fund-raising event in France after the back-to-back calamities that struck her hometown of Bohol (Visayas, Philippines). She also joined and then eventually won the Europe leg of TFC’s worldwide singing competition, TFCkat in 2013.

Adding to the already powerful team of the Pop Star is the former member of the all-girl group AKA Jam, who joined the first season of the “X-Factor Philippines,” Monique Lualhati. She joined “The Voice” to help her sister who is in the edge of losing her eyesight because of an in-born condition and sang a heartfelt female version of Bruno Mars’ “When I Was Your Man.”

Meantime, coaches Salonga, Geronimo, and Apl, swooned over by the modern-day telegram singer, Jason James Dy, when he sang Sam Smith’s hit “Stay With Me.” After the three coaches fought to win over Dy, the singer dubbed as Harana King chose to be part of Team Sarah. Coach Geronimo now has six members including wakeboarder Daniel Ombao, and four-chair-turner and soulful reggae singer Kokoi Baldo.

Meantime, Coach Bamboo also added two new breed of singing talents in his Kamp Kawayan team. The rocker coach continued to prove that he is the king of four-chair turns when the self-proclaimed classic Original Pilipino Music (OPM) lover, Rence Lee Rapanot, joined his team after performing Asin’s “Mateo Singko.”

Singing mom Rhoda “Dang” Del Rosario also joined Team Bamboo after her smooth jazz rendition of another Velasquez hit, “Araw-Gabi.” They are joining Person with Disability (PWD) singer, Karlo Mojica, and four-chair turners, rocker Tanya Ileto Diaz, and senator’s daughter Kai Honasan.

Coach Salonga, finally added three more singing talents to her team. Former “Pilipinas Got Talent” contender Jem Cubil who stole the hearts of worldwide viewers as well as Salonga’s, with his good-looks and charming voice when he performed a stripped down version of Kings of Leon’s “Use Somebody.” Salonga even told Coach Geronimo, who failed to turn her chair for the charmer, “Sabi sa’yo guwapo eh! (I told you, he’s good-looking!).”

Jem Cubil joins Team Lea

Adding to the list of Coach Salonga’s team are the former front man of the now defunct rock band, Stonefree and self-confessed Mama’s Boy Miro Valera who gave his own rock twist of The Beatles’ “Ticket to Ride,” and the Broadway Diva’s namesake Leah Patricio, who gave her impressive rendition of the late Whitney Houston hit “I Will Always Love You.”

Coach Apl, on the other hand, failed to add a new member for his team and still stands with three members: singing policewoman Janet Cadayona, rocker-daddy Bradley Holmes, and young crooner Mark Cando.

The two-night blind auditions also featured the children of OPM icon Rico Puno, Doki and Rox Puno, stand-up comedienne and impersonator, Maria Kristina “Rufa Mi” Aguilar and the mother of Teen King Daniel Padilla, singer-actress Karla Estrada who revealed that she has been joining singing contests since she was as a kid. While the four failed to make a chair turn, Estrada affirmed that joining “The Voice” was a dream come true for all contenders of any singing contests and said, “lahat tayo pantay-pantay sa pangarap (each one of us has a dream).”

Witness more dreams coming true in the continuation of the blind auditions of “The Voice of the Philippines” season two this Saturday and Sunday, November 15 and 16 (November 16 and 17, Sunday and Monday ADST, and NZDT and November 15 and 17, Saturday and Monday Guam time) on TFC worldwide. Worldwide viewers can also watch the exciting blind auditions via live stream or after its Philippine airing in TFC’s official online service, TFC.tv and via its video-on-demand or VOD (Internet Protocol television or IPTV) service available in the U.S.A., Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.
