41st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 8 official entries revealed

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced this afternoon the official list of the eight (8) entries for the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2015. Comedy remains to be the most represented genre, with films like “Beauty and Bestie,” “Mr. and Mrs. Split” and “Romcom-in Mo Ako” followed by the ever horror movies. There is only one romance movie on the list and one biopic.

The films to be shown in this year’s festival are as follows:

1. Beauty and the Bestie, Star Cinema
Starring: Vice Ganda and Coco Martin

2. Death and Senses
Starring: Rayver Cruz, Jayson Gainza and Ian Veneracion

3. Haunted Mansion, Regal Films
Starring: Janella Salavador, Marlo Mortel and Jerome Ponce

4. Hermano Puli (based on life of Apolinario Mabini)
Starring: John Prats

5. Mr. and Mrs. Split, Star Cinema
Starring: Kris Aquino and Herbert Bautista

6. Nilalang (The Entity)
Starring Robin Padilla and Maria Ozawa

7. Romcom-in Mo Ako, MZET
Starring: Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai deals Alas

8. Walang Forever, Quantum Films
Starring: JM de Guzman and Jennylyn Mercado

The main competition of the 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will open on December 25 and will run until the first week of January 2016. During the festival, no foreign films are shown in the Philippine theaters in order to showcase locally produced films.

Atty. Francis Tolentino also announced the films in the 9th and 10th slot since they will be shown in case any entry backs out.

10. Lakambini
Starring Lovi Poe
Director: Jeffrey Jeturian
