The consistently high ratings of GMA 7’s popular AlDub love team in “Eat Bulaga!” has forced the “It’s Showtime” staff to hold an emergency meeting.
An Abante-Tonite report said the success of AlDub has apparently ruffled the feathers of the rival network since its artistic, creative, and production team met recently.
“Eat Bulaga!”, the longest running noontime show, has been getting high ratings since the phenomenal love team began. Fans can’t seem to get enough of the two as seen in the long queues outside Broadway Centrum to trending topics on Twitter.
Based on AGB Nielsen NUTAM ratings, “Eat Bulaga!” scored a high rating of 25% on Saturday, August 8, 2015, making it the most-watched daytime program on that day. This was the time Frankie Arinoli and Yaya Dub were to wed, but it was postponed since the latter fainted on set.
This supposedly hastened ABS-CBN’s decision to hire Ryan Rems Sarita as a regular on “It’s Showtime” in order to defeat the AlDub love team. Ryan is the first winner in the noontime show’s comedian search which concluded on Saturday.
He was immediately paired with Vice Ganda and the new love team exchanged sweet words that thrilled fans. Could this new pair help “It’s Showtime” regain its former glory?
