The ‘tanim bala’ or ‘laglag bala’ (planting bullets in luggages) issue has made a lot of passengers worry about them being the next victim. At the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, many have fallen victim to this allegedly notorious scam and it really brings the reputation of our country down.

Not only internationally, Philippines is known to have a very corrupt government but this time, in our international airport, the ‘tanim bala’ issue victimizing not only Filipinos but foreigners, too.

OFWs and tourists are the most affected by this scam and it is really saddening. These people are the ones who help our economy and this is what they get when they decide to visit the country? If you turn to social media, day and night netizens are all talking about this laglag-bala issue and they all ask the same question over and over and over again.

What is the government doing to stop the ‘laglag bala’ issue? More and more are being victimized and concerned citizens just want it to stop.

Of course, in this modern age, even celebrities use social media to share their opinions. They have more reasons to say what they are thinking because they have a huge amount of followers. And if used for good cause, they will be able reach the unreachable.

Take the opinions that the following celebrities shared publicly. Not all popular celebrities say what they think about the issue, but at least some are still willing to talk about it and pose questions like normal people would.

On November 8, 2015, Aiza Seguerra posted on Instagram that the laglag-bala issue is only a diversion. That the government is trying to get away from the 170 Billion peso donation issue for the Yolanda typhoon victims. Aiza insists that the real issue is the Yolanda money, and that the ‘tanim bala’ issue is a smokescreen.

Bianca Gonzalez has her opinion, too. She is asking the government if there are no officials that will be punished since they are not doing their jobs well. Most commenters agree with her. Some are even saying that the ‘tanim bala’ incident is meant to ruin the reputation of the Philippines especially in light of the upcoming APEC summit.
