GMA Network’s epic telefantasya “Encantadia” has been highly anticipated by fans since it first aired in 2005. Now, its requel, is back on GMA Telebabad.
The pilot episode of “Encantadia” aired on July 18 at 7:45 pm, replacing the comedy drama “Poor Senorita” was pitted against the top-rating “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” of ABS-CBN, whose lead star is Coco Martin.
The requel of the hit fantaserye of the Kapuso Network was able to beat its rival programn of ABS-CBN. According to the data of AGB Nielsen for Urban Luzon, “Encantadia’s” pilot episode scored 26.1% while “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” only got 24.2%.
This is just on day one. The succeeding days of “Encantadia” versus “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” got far different results specially on the fourth day (Thursday) where it received its lowest rating so far, the peak of its rival program.

The remake is directed by Mark Reyes and the main cast is composed of Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia, Sanya Lopez, and Glaiza de Castro as the four Sang’gres. They were not yet featured on the pilot episode but viewers were able to see Marian Rivera as Ynang Reyna Mine-a, Dingdong Dantes (Raquim), Rocco Nacino (Aquil), John Arcilla (Hagorn), Solenn Heussaff (Cassiopeia), among others.
Nielsen TV Audience Measurement service boasts a total of 31 clients/subscribers including 8 local TV networks, 4 regional clients, 2 blocktimers, and 17 media agencies. GMA Network subscribes to Nielsen along with TV5 and Aksyon TV, CNN Philippines, Net 25, Ebiquity-Faulkner CBN Asia and TAPE Inc., and major advertising and media agencies such as Dentsu Aegis Network (Carat, Mediaforce Vizeum, Dentsu), GroupM (Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC and Maxus), Omnicom Media Group (OMD, PHD and M2M), Zenith Optimedia, and Starcom Mediavest.
