GMA Network is set to air a new afternoon series in the first half of 2017. Entitled “D’ Originals,” the series will dive into the life of cheating husbands.
According to its director Adolf Alix, Jr., the viewers should expect unequaled stories in the series for it will show how husbands cheat. The series’ mission is to empower women and to give them tips to become more clever when dealing with these kinds of husbands.
The series will star Kapuso actresses Jaclyn Jose, LJ Reyes and Kim Domingo as the “original wives,” while Katrina Halili, Natalie Hart and Lovely Abella will portray the mistresses roles. It will also feature Jestoni Alarcon, Mark Herras and Archie Alenania as the “kaliwetes” or the cheating husbands.
According to Jose, the series is an exprimenral dramedy and is relatable to woman audiences.
“Experimental—dramedy sa hapon. Tungkol ito sa mga kababaihan na may asawa, at ang mga asawa nila ay may other women. Light ito at situational, ‘yung mga nangyayari talaga sa totoong buhay,” she said.
Reyes revealed that GMA News and Public Affairs have put effort to conduct interviews to cheated wives.
She explained: “Very different ang treatment nila… We’re very excited kasi hindi siya basta-basta soap, based on reality talaga siya. May studies rin silang ginawa. May na-interview silang mga totoong tao. Based on experiences talaga.”
Moreover, GMA Network is yet to announce the pilot airing of the drama-comedy series.
