AlDub fans to boycott fast food chain because of MayWard

Recently, McDonald’s Philippines announced love team MayWard as the newest members of their family.

The love team, composed of Edward Barber and Maymay Entrata, can be seen on McDonald’s latest commercial endorsing its Creamy McFreeze. The commercial was an instant hit, gaining more than 1.9 million views and 27 thousand shares as of this writing.

However, their endorsement didn’t sit well to other members of AlDub Nation. For example, a certain page dedicated to AlDub encouraged its followers to boycott the fast food giant.

The page claimed that their idols, Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, have extravagant talent fees. Thus, the fast food chain has relied to AlDub’s ‘imitation,’ which they were referring to MayWard.

The page wrote: “Dahil sa sobrang mahal ng TF ng aldub, si @McDonaldsPH kinuhang endorser ung imitation, peke at gaya gaya sa aldub! Naku McDo, malulugi kayo sa kanila! #BoycottMcDonaldsPH”

Some AlDub Nation, unfortunately, expressed their agreement about the said boycott.

But the administrator of the page clarified that AlDub is still in the list of McDonald’s endorsers nonetheless.

Will you boycott McDonald’s because of its new endorsers?
