In the Philippines, May December affairs had always been frowned upon. But whether we admit it or not, it may be something we must all learn to accept. In love, age is simply just a number. Let’s take a look at celebrity couples who received a lot of flak as the public disapproved of their relationship but eventually ended up in marriage.
Take for example, when actress Pauleen Luna started dating veteran TV host and comedy actor Vic Sotto, there was a 35 year age difference in terms of age. Another couple who fought all the odds were Senator Chiz Escudero and Heart Evangelista. The 15 year age gap was something her parents’ couldn’t accept at first. But these couples had proven how much they really loved each other.
Nowadays, it seems that showbiz has learned to fully accept such scenarios.
Comedy Queen Ai Ai Delas Alas is set to marry her fiancé, non-showbiz guy Gerald Sibayan soon despite the 29-year age difference. Ai Ai had always been “protective” of Gerald because he has experienced and received lot of negative comments from the couple’s bashers.
Another couple who will walk the aisle soon would be Dr. Vicky Belo and Hayden Kho. Theirs is the kind of relationship that was put to a lot of tests in the past—from the sex video scandal to the alleged third parties.
