23-year-old Nadine Lustre earned so much for a simple statement she dropped earlier this week.
The host/actress was intrigued about a rumor that she and on/off screen boyfriend James Reid are living in together. She immediately responded to it in her previous interview with TV Patrol.
“If that was true, so what?”
“It’s normal na eh. Come on, guys, it’s 2017!”
These words were bombarded with negative reactions from the Filipino conservatives. According to them, Nadine is not a good example for our youth because of her liberation.
Though it’s not anybody’s business whether or not she decides to really move in with James, there are people who can’t be tamed on being vocal about it.
They argued that premarital cohabitation is unacceptable and not the right way for relationships to grow. It’s reportedly the cause of higher divorce rates, infidelity, poorer communication, and domestic abuse.
What does Nadine has to say about all of these?
During last night’s press conference of Sony Philippines at Seda Hotel in Quezon City, PEP.ph asked Nadine about the issue.
“Wala naman po. I mean, tuloy naman yung buhay. Hindi naman ako affected.”
She also said that it’s really hard to please every body especially in social media. As long as she stays true to herself, Nadine is bulletproof from hate.
“For me naman po, hindi ako nagpi-filter ng mga isasagot.”
“Kasi, bakit naman po ako magsisinungaling, di ba?”
Still, she thanks her supporters for their understanding to whatever she’s going through. As for James, Nadine said that they both agree on being honest to their fans and the public.
The popular tandem “JaDine” are mainstay hosts of ABSCBN’s noontime show “It’s Showtime.”
