PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar defends Mocha Uson over fake news accusations

  • Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar  defended her Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson over fake news issues.
  • Mocha Uson has the trust and confidence of President Duterte, Martin Andanar says.

Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson went live on Facebook with her boss, Martin Andanar. PCCO Secretary defended Mocha over fake news accusations.

“Si Mocha is a very unique personality and official,” Martin praised Mocha.

Kumbaga, ipinaglalaban si Presidente, so she is a unique personality in that sense,” he added.

“But PCOO is not Mocha, Mocha is not PCCO,” Martin emphasized.

PCCO Sec. Martin also said that President Duterte trusted Mocha and has confidence with her. “Siya ho ay tagapagtanggol ng ating Pangulo, and she has the confidence and the trust of the President.”

“At yung assignment na ibinibigay ko kay Mocha… ganito lang po kasimple yung description ng trabaho ni Mocha—her job is assistant secretary for social media covering the President,” he explained Mocha’s job description.

“Now, yung trabaho ni Mocha na sumama kay Presidente sa Marawi at kung saan-saan mang delikadong lugar, she is doing a fantastic job, because she is relaying the message of the President to the entire social media world, especially the followers of the President.

“And she is very effective at that.

“The fact that she has five million one hundred or three hundred thousand followers, and growing, it is a testament that she is very effective in what she does,” he ended.

The former TV5 news anchor also stressed out that Mocha is free to write on her blog despite of her current position in the government.

“She still has those basic rights. She’s still a Filipina. And sinabi naman ni Mocha, right from the start na pagpasok niya sa PCOO, ay yung kanyang blog ay sarili niya at does not reflect the opinion of the department. So, ano bang problema?” he said.

Sec. Martin also talked about fake news allegations to Mocha, “Now, marami kasi, e, sabihin niyo si Mocha, fake news, yung oposisyon, SilentNoMore, fake news, e.”

On the last part of Mocha’s FB live, the PCOO Secretary also talked about Coco Dayao, the webmaster of anti-Duterte blogsite, SilentNoMore.
