Star Cinema recently announced that My Perfect You just earned Php 10 million on its opening day. Star Cinema published the post on March 15, Thursday. The film had only opened in cinemas in March 14, Wednesday.
In a recent blog conference, Pia Wurtzbach admitted that she felt like she had to prove herself again in her first movie with Gerald.
In the said blog conference, Pia added that she still has to prove that she deserved to become a leading lady.
“May pressure kasi ako ‘to, e. Parang this time, I really have to prove that I deserve this role, that I deserve to be a leading lady almost right away, and that I can do the job.”
Pia hoped that viewers could see another side of her and wished viewers didn’t see the Miss Universe side of her. She continued that she wanted to prove how she can do it.
“Medyo may kauting pressure na kailangan ko talagang galingan. Kasi, I didn’t want people to think na the reason why she’s given this role or project is because she won Miss Universe. I wanted to show them a different side of me that they’ve never seen before. And I wanted to prove that I could do it.”
The caption on the said Instagram account also read:
“Sa lahat ng natuwa kina Abi at Burn, maraming salamat po! 🎉 ‘Wag palampasin ang bagong kilig tandem sa #MyPerfectYou ✨!”
Pia wanted viewers to see the character she portrayed. Abi is the girl who will let Gerald Anderson’s character, Burn, see the light.
“Gusto ko kapag pinanood nila ‘yan, hindi yung Pia Wurtzbach noong coronation night yung makikita nila, hindi yung naka-blue na gown. Gusto ko yung makikita nila yung ibang tao na kapag pinanood nila, makakalimutan nila yung Pia, basta si Abi lang ang nakikita nila.”
