- Jake’s grandmother is currently confined in a hospital and they’re asking for financial support.
- The singer promised to provide financial aid even if his family has disgraced him.
Jake Zyrus finally responds to her mother Raquel Pempengco’s plea if he could at least visit his sick grandmother Tess Pempengco who is currently confined in Sta. Rosa Hospital and Medical Center.
The singer broke his silence during the launch of his new book “I Am Jake.” He stated, “You know, honestly, I don’t think I could comment on that anymore.
“Kasi, like yung mga ganyang bagay, for example, sa mga nangyari sa family…
“For example, like yung magkasakit ako or maospital ako or maospital ang mother ko or maospital ang lola ko, I think, ito na ‘yung time na I just don’t want to comment because, yes, sa amin na lang ‘yun, sa amin na lang ‘yun.”
Currently, his family is asking for financial help for his lola’s medication.
Jake continued, “I’m her grandson. She has children, I think it’s kinda unfair na ako lang ‘yung laging pinupuntirya.
“I mean, I cannot just keep quiet about it because all my life, I’ve been trying to clean my name in front of these people who always laugh at me, who always make fun of me, who always tell me that I am the devil in the family.
“And the thing is, the sad thing is, tanggap ko na ‘yun, na ako na ‘yung demonyo sa kanila.
“But I’m not going to accept na they do all these things to make me feel na ako ang lahat ng gagawa because… [kapag] tutulong ako, tutulong ako.
“You know, ako yung taong maipagmamalaki kong hindi ako madamot.
“Kahit na anong sakit, kahit na anong pain ang ilagay mo sa akin… pamilya ka man o hindi, tutulungan at tutulungan kita.
“But for you to crush me to my inner core, I’m not going to stay silent.”
Jake says he will help his grandmother but he will keep it private and not announce it to the media.
“I wish the best for my family, ‘yung health, everything, sincere iyan. Tutulong ako, tutulong ako, at hindi ko ipapaalam sa iba.
“I’m not going to post anything on social media that I helped, hindi nila malalaman na makakatulong ako kasi, either I help or not, ako ‘yung masama.
“So, kung tutulong man ako, which talaga namang tumutulong ako, hindi nila malalaman, hindi ninyo malalaman. Nothing. It’s just to myself.”
Jake has not been in touch with his mother and his brother Carl Pempengco.
He ended the interview with a noteworthy quote, “I think I made it to this world to be alone and to have my own family.”
