- Although the training is rough, the production makes sure that Angel’s physical well-being is secured.
Angel Locsin is currently undergoing a full-scale training for her upcoming series “The General’s Daughter.”
The actress is not just into physical training, but she has to learn military tactics as well.
During the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between ABS-CBN and the AFP, Angel took the opportunity to describe her training.
“Kasi inaayos pa ang mga permit, pero gumagawa talaga ako ng paraan like kung paano sa firing, ‘yung character ko kasi part ng nurses’ corps.
“So, hindi lang ako basta sundalo kundi kailangan ko din aralin ‘yung military side, pati yung disiplina din talaga,” she explained.
The production also made sure that, although the role requires serious physical training, they have to keep Angel safe knowing that she suffered from a major back pain a few years back.
“Medyo risky, lahat naman ng ginagawa namin is risky pero mga professionals ang mga nag-guide sa ’tin.
“Hindi naman din tayo pinapabayaan. Actually, sila pa ‘yung stop nang stop sa ’kin pero pag kaya ko go ako.”
Angel is also grateful to the AFP for taking care of her.
“They’re very helpful, talagang napaka-patient nila sa atin. Ang mga nurse corps natin dito sa AFP binigyan talaga nila tayo ng oras kung paano ba nila inaalagaan ang mga sundalo natin na nagsakripisyo.
“Mayroon kami na parang pinakitaan kami ng totoo, ‘yung realidad para maipakita din namin sa mga audience natin.”
“The General’s Daughter” was expected to premiere by October this year.
However, the production decided to move it until 2019 because Angel Locsin and Maricel Soriano both have to lose weight.
