Derek Ramsay didn’t deny that he had a meeting with the executives of GMA Network to talk about his transfer. This resulted to another meeting where they talked about a few adjustments to the contract.
Network transfer.
Derek noted that the network wanted him to start working in November but he declined and asked if he could start in 2019.
“Gusto nilang mag-start na ako sa November but sabi ko next year na muna. Mga detail na lang inaayos ngayon.”
He confirmed that he was offered to star in a series with Jennylyn Mercado but he had to reject it due to his schedule. He admitted that he wanted to work with Jennylyn on TV as they worked on two movies before such as the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry English Only Please and 2017 entry All of You.
Influence from friends.
Derek admitted that Kapuso star John Estrada influenced his decision to transfer to GMA Network.
“John is my brother. It’s gonna be awesome na makakasama ko siya sa GMA if ever it happens. Yes, isa siya sa mga malaking reasons.”
John confirmed this and shared that Derek approached him. He further convinced the latter to meet with the executives and accept the offer.
