  • MTRCB calls the attention of the people behind a film titled “Fisting.”
  • The word “fisting” is also used in pornographic videos.
  • The film director changed the title to something more public-friendly.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) immediately reacted to the movie titled “Fisting,” an entry to the 2018 Cinema One Originals Film Festival.

The film festival will be running from October 12 to 21. Even though the event is just around the corner, MTRCB put its foot down.

“Fisting” is a term used when a group of people, usually men, join together and punch someone or something with a metaphorical fist. Its main purpose is to pump people up.

However, it is also a term used in pornographic videos in which a person puts a fist inside an ass or a vagina and uses great amount of lubrication to make it possible.

When netizens learned about the movie;s title, they immediately made fun of it.

MTRCB said that the movie “has not been submitted to the Board for appropriate review and classification.

“We assure the public that materials, which do not fall within the General Audience (‘G’) classification, shall not be approved for exhibition in a movie house, broadcast in television, publication in print media and exposure in other related media,” explained MTRCB chairperson Maria Rachel Arenas.

The film’s director Whammy Alcazaren, in response to MTRCB’s comments, immediately took the appropriate action by promising to change the title.

Alcazaren said that their decision to change the title is “a sign of respect to the community” noting the negative reactions from the public.

He added, “We have decided to take responsibility. Although we understand why we chose this title, we also understand that it’s not for everyone.”

The movie “Fisting” will now be called “Never Tear Us Apart.”
