The General’s Daughter serves as Angel Locsin‘s teleserye comeback.
The action-filled series also stars Albert Martinez, Tirso Cruz III, Janice de Belen, Eula Valdez, Maricel Soriano, Paulo Avelino, JC de Vera, Loisa Andalio and Ronnie Alonte. She trained hard for this series since she doesn’t have a stunt double.
Angel took the challenge.
Locsin doesn’t have a double in portraying the role of 1st Lt. Rhian Bonifacio. This became the reason why she couldn’t avoid getting slightly injured or wounded.
“Actually, tinanggap ko at ‘di ko ineexpect na ganun pala siya kahirap pero ako naman kasi, I’m always up ‘pag may mga ganung klaseng challenge, eh. Parang nagigising ako.”
Angel underwent hard training.
In 2015, Angel revealed that she can no longer play Darna due to her spine injury. Her intensive training triggered the development of a disc bulge in her spine. This meant that she can no longer do active stunts.
In a recent Instagram post, Angel accepted her spine injury and learned to adjust.

The series will be Angel’s fifth full-length television series since she joined ABS-CBN in 2008. This led others to tag her as the Queen of Action-Drama Series. Locsin also starred in Mulawin, Darna, Majika, Lobo, Imortal, a cameo appearance on Mulawin vs. Ravena and La Luna Sangre.
