Joy Cancio is happy that Coco Martin still remembers the time when he became part of the defunct Kapuso afternoon series Daisy Siete with the Sexbomb Dancers.
The actor somehow felt he’s tracing back the early days he worked with the Kapuso network when he was filming a scene in the movie Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles.
The said scene is about Coco joining the “Mr. Pogi” segment on Eat Bulaga.
He shared, “Nu’ng sinu-shoot po namin talaga sabi ko, siguro lagpas yata ng ten takes ako do’n.
“Nu’ng papakilala pa lang ako, and then, after that, siyempre, may rehearsal pa, sasayaw ako, magra-rap ako.
“Kumbaga, ’yung nerbyos, pakiramdam ko, totoo siyang ano, totoo akong sumali ng Eat Bulaga.”
Cancio said the actor was in the same nervous situation in Daisy Siete. He continued:
“Tapos po, nu’ng nandu’n ako, ’yun, parang bumabalik lang po sa akin.
“And then, nu’ng ginagawa na namin ’yun, nu’ng sinu-shoot na namin ’yun, eh, talagang parang totoong live na live po naming ginagawa. ’Yung nerbyos po, parang totoong-totoong contest po.
“Kaya nu’ng nandoon ako, naka-ilang take ako. Tapos, honestly, hindi ko siya matapus-tapos, hindi ko matapus-tapos ang eksena ko, pero ’yun, finally.
“Pinagtiyagaan po ako ni Direk Mike (Tuviera) kaya natapos po namin. Kaya, sabi ko nga, kung merong pinaka-memorable sa akin sa buong pelikula, ’yun po, sumali po ako sa Eat Bulaga.”
Cancio said to BalitaNet that she is happy knowing that Coco is the type who knows how to look back and help those who helped him when he was still a newbie in the showbiz.
“Ibinabalik ni Coco sa tao ‘yung mga naibigay ding tulong sa kanya noon,” said Joy.
Joy Cancio was the one who invited Coco to be part of Daisy Siete as the leading man of Rochelle Pangilinan.
Recently, Pangilinan posted a throwback photo of the Kapuso series which included the actor.

Joy and Coco never had a reunion since Daisy Siete ended, but she is proud to be the person who gave the actor a chance to have a shot in the business.
Today, Coco Martin is one of the most respected actors and his highly-anticipated 2018 Metro Manila Film Festival entry movie Jack Em Popoy: The Puliscredibles will open in cinemas starting December 25.
