The Antoinette Jadaone film tackles the lives of former college sweethearts Raf (Gil) and Christine (Soberano) who meet again. The trailer shows the couple plotting their shared dreams, only to end up reaching for them separately after Christine ends their relationship.
In one scene, Raf appears to be holding a ring box as he pleads to Christine not to leave. Markedly more mature in appearance, the two come face to face again, with Raf asking Christine a series of “what-if” questions and surmising how much differently their lives would have unfolded given those scenarios.
The questions put them on the road to rekindling their romance, but their circumstances prohibit it as they’re both involved with someone else.
Shot partly within the campus of the University of the Philippines in Diliman and in New York, “Alone/Together” marks Soberano and Gil’s fourth big-screen project together.
The movie earned the 21.6 million on its opening day on Wednesday and grossed more than Php 61.9 million on itssecond day. ‘Alone/Together’ is still showing in more than 300 cinemas nationwide.
