  • Michael V. is the man behind the online hit ‘Oo’ which is a parody of Up Dharma Down’s ‘Uh-oh’
  • He is set to direct an upcoming movie project
  • The said project, titled ‘Family History,’ is a collaborative work between GMA Pictures and Mic Test Entertainment
  • In this project, he will direct the iconic actress Dawn Zulueta

GMA Network actor and creative director Michael V. is set to direct seasoned actress Dawn Zulueta, together with other talented GMA artists like Bianca Umali, Miguel Tanfelix, Paolo Contis, and Ina Feleo.

The said movie project is titled ‘Family History’ and is a collaboration between GMA Pictures and Mic Test Entertainment.

Michael V. is the man behind ‘Oo,’ the parody of Up Dharma Down’s ‘Uh-oh’ that has been enjoyed by Bubble Gang viewers.

The netizens, and even the band itself, liked the parody which garnered millions of online views.

He is also the creative director and music composer of the longest running gag show, ‘Bubble Gang.’ He also gave life to some of the remarkable characters that’s familiar to televiewers like Bitoy, Etoy, and Bebang. He perfectly knows how to tastefully and hilariously impersonate famous icons.

The last regular project of Dawn in GMA Network was in the third installment of the fantasy series, Encantadia: Pag-ibig Hanggang Wakas where she played the character of Ynang Reyna Mine-a, the mother of the four Sangres – Pirena (Sunshine Dizon), Amihan (Iza Calzado), Alena (Karylle), and Danaya (Diana Zubiri).

Most of her TV series are with ABS-CBN, starting from 2007 when she played the role of Ruth Abelgas in the fantasy series, Mars Ravelo’s Lastikman. In 2016, ABS-CBN brought back the team up of Dawn and Richard Gomez in the evening series, You’re My Home, playing the role of Marian Angeles-Fontanilla. In 2017, she had several TV appearances on GMA Network. But before going back to GMA Network this year, she played the role of First Lady Marissa Hidalgo in the longest running ABS-CBN Primetime Bida series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Family History is the comeback project both for GMA Pictures and Dawn Zulueta, as this is her comeback project with the network and the resurgence of the film outfit in producing films. It can be recalled that GMA Pictures was founded in 1995 by Jimmy Duavit and Butch Jimenez, and called it Cinemax Studios. After the international movie cable channel HBO made a separate movie channel called Cinemax, they started to call the production outfit as GMA Films.

GMA Films is the the film production behind critically acclaimed movies like Muro-Ami, José Rizal, Sa Pusod ng Dagat, and Deathrow. The film outfit was in a hiatus for five years when Felipe Gozon took over GMA Network. From 2005 to 2009, it produced a total of three films only; the valentine blockbuster hit, Let the Love Begin, Ouija, a film co-produced with Viva Films, and Ang Panday, co-produced by Imus Films which was an official entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival 2009.

The last movie produced by GMA Films before going into hibernation was the AlDub movie, Imagine You and Me. They partnered with APT Entertainment and M-Zet Production. The said movie grossed P 12.8 million on the first six hours of its opening and P21.5 million by the end of the day.

After three years of being in hiatus, GMA Pictures (formerly GMA Films) announced that they will do a comeback project for 2019. The first project which will be directed by Michael V. is entitled Family History.
