- Netizens blamed GMA Network’s digital signal interruption on its rival ABS-CBN, pointing out signal sabotage
- However, GMA Network clarified this accusation stating that the signal loss was mainly a technical issue
- It also emphasized that ABS-CBN’s TV Plus is only a receiver of TV transmissions and has no control over other channels’ signal
GMA Network Digital Signal relies on ABS-CBN TV Plus and other digital signal receivers for clear reception of free TV channels via digital transmission.
Recently, Digital Signal users have complained about signal interruptions on the GMA Network channel which made them unable to view their favorite Kapuso network programs.
Due to this, many blamed its rival network’s device, the ABS-CBN TV Plus, for blocking the signal, stating that the network is intentionally getting GMA Network’s signal away because of the heating network wars.
Despite the previous clarification, netizens when having an interruption still puts the blame on the other network as seen in their social media sentiments.
Sa mga patuloy na sinisisi ang ABS-CBN at TVplus sa pagkawala ng transmission ng GMA sa DTT, panahon na upang ipagbigay-alam sa publiko ang digital signal sa Pilipinas.

I read somewhere na lahat daw ng naka digibox (or basta digital signal), walang @gmanetwork . So does it mean ang GMA ang may signal prob?
Oist, ayusin nyo naman. May papanuorin pa ako bukas eh.

Hopefully soon, TV disturbances will lessen as to not have damaging accusations on networks.
However, GMA Network countered this speculation and clarified it by posting an advisory which stated that the terrestrial TV signal of GMA Network went offline due to some technical issues. Emphasizing that it has nothing to do with signal sabotage because the broadcasters themselves have control of the transmission and set-top boxes, and also ABS-CBN TV Plus only picks up signals whenever available.

This was already clarified by ABS-CBN back in September 2015 when they released an official statement stating that the TV Plus box is merely a receiver of any digital TV transmissions it can pick up, but it has no control over how other channels transmit their own digital TV signals.
