Maine Mendoza earns admiration for turning down political endorsements

‘Eat Bulaga’ co-host Maine Mendoza is one of the most in demand endorsers in the Philippine industry. She is currently the newest endorser of Pilipinas Shell, along with Drew Arellano and Nico Bolzico. Numerous awards have been given to the actress for her notable performances.

Recently, she was hailed as the ‘Most Inspiring Celebrity’ by the manufacturer of Barbie on their 60th anniversary celebration and was awarded as the country’s ‘Box Office Queen’ for the movie ‘Jack Em Popoy:The Pulis Credibles.’

It was no surprise for the phenomenal star to receive a lot of political endorsement offerings since 2018.

However, Rams David, Maine’s talent manager and president of Triple A management, had to turn down each offer politely.

“Ever since naman, I think, this is not the first time na nag-showbiz siya na nagka-election. Before that, wala rin naman tayong ikinampanya. Siguro mas gusto natin na okay na yung ganyan, wala siyang pinapanigan. Parang all is fair. Feeling ko naman kasi, ang politician doesn’t need someone na magtataas ng kamay mo. Kung maganda ang hangarin mo as politician, hindi mo kailangan ng superstar para iboto ka ng tao. Ibigay mo lang ang tamang plataporma mo at maganda ang hangarin mo, mananalo ka,” Rams said in an interview with

The Mendoza family and the Triple A management took their stand to refuse endorsing politicians.

Sa totoo lang, kung gusto namin ng pera-pera lang… well, maraming nag-o-offer as in, milyun-milyon pa. Pero, hindi na,” Rams said.

For that reason, Maine had received praises from fans who favored her decision.
