President Rodrigo Duterte and partner Honeylet Avanceña recently threw a thanksgiving party for celebrities who supported his candidacy. One of those invited was actress and host Toni Gonzaga who came along with her husband, director Paul Soriano, and her sister, Alex Gonzaga.
However, the actress admitted that she didn’t know why she was invited to the party.
During an ambush interview at the press conference of ‘Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet,’ the actress said she had no clue as to why she was invited to the private dinner. She was also shocked to see other actors and actresses present at the party, too.
“Lahat kami nagkagulatan na, ‘Invited ka pala, invited ka pala.’ Kasi it was such a private invitation na hindi namin alam kung sino ‘yung mga makakasama namin.”
She even added that she wasn’t active in campaigning for Duterte.
“Hindi rin namin alam kung bakit kami ‘yung mga napili na dumating because I wasn’t active during the whole campaign nung presidential, hindi ako nangampanya. Kaya nagulat din ako.”
The actress speculated that she was invited because of Robin Padilla, who is an avid supporter of the President.

so, I unfollowed Alex and Toni Gonzaga cause they’re avid supporters of Duterte + they were friends with Marcoses as well. I find it cringey na tuloy whenever I saw their videos preaching God’s word & support Duterte at the same time.

The actress was bashed on social media for being seen as a Duterte supporter since she was invited to the said dinner.
