- Bea Alonzo liked an Instagram post of a John Lloyd Cruz meme about lies
- It happened hours after Gerald Anderson released his statement regarding his breakup with Bea
- Following Gerald, Julia finally aired her statements about the issue
Bea Alonzo liked an Instagram post about lying hours after Gerald Anderson made his statement about the controversy involving himself, Bea, and Julia Barretto.
On Monday night, August 5, Bea liked an Instagram post showing a John Lloyd Cruz meme possibly pertaining to Gerald’s statement. The meme said:”Kung magsisinungaling ka, galing galingan mo!!”
It was the same day when Gerald finally broke his silence after two weeks, addressing the breakup with his girlfriend of three years, Bea. He clarified that there was no third party involved in their rift, clearing the name of Julia.
“Siguro, ang nangyari, just like any relationship, you have those moments where you have that fight, after fight after fight after fight. But you have that one big fight na doon niyo nailabas lahat ng emotions and lahat ng feelings,” he told ABS-CBN News’ Ganiel Krishnan on Monday, August 5.
“Doon din ‘yung realization na hindi na siya masyadong healthy, and we’re just hurting each other. Iyon, umabot sa point na ayawan na talaga. And then after that, you have to stay strong and disciplined para umiwas muna sa communication. Siguro, that moment, or that fight, happened about four weeks ago, mga isang buwan na siguro,” he said.
He denied that there was a third party involved in their break up. He stressed that it was caused by their personal issues.
“Walang outside force, walang ibang tao ang naging dahilan ng breakup. Para sa akin, it’s always been our personal issues, things that we… Things inside our relationship that caused the breakup.”
In earlier reports, Bea confirmed that Gerald “ghosted” her and that they did not have a formal breakup; he just stopped communicating with her one day.
Breakup rumors started to spread on the internet after Bea made a cryptic post on Instagram, possibly hinting at the infidelity of Gerald.
At that time, the latter’s photo with Julia taken at a party seemingly confirmed the rumors.
Last Tuesday, August 6, Tuesday, Julia finally spoke about the issue by posting a long statement on Instagram. In her post, she denied the speculations that she was the third party involved in Bea and Gerald’s breakup. She also accused Bea of bullying her for liking several social media posts pertaining to her rumored relationship with Gerald.
Part of her statements read: “Bea, you wanted to keep your hands clean by not mentioning me in your controversial post, but with a click of your finger, in your sly way, you have charged everybody to destroy me for you. You have encouraged a culture of hate by purposely liking harmless photos, putting malice into the minds of many, which resulted in the outrage of insults against me.
“You are a woman of great influence and following. You could have used that power to promote strength and grace in women, but instead, you’ve used that to promote social media irresponsibility. That is downright bullying.
“You can play victim all you want, but I refuse to be your victim,” the actress wrote.
After making her statement, the actress was again in hot water for seemingly being aggressive towards Bea.
Netizens became more doubtful about her statements when her aunt, Gretchen Barretto suddenly claimed that Julia hired a ghostwriter to come up with the statement.
Last week, fans noticed that Bea apparently unfollowed Gerald on Instagram and unfollowed Julia, as well.
