‘The General’s Daughter’ finally beats ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ and is now the #1 most-watched TV program nationwide

  • Angel Locsin’s The General’s Daughter holds another record for being the first teleserye to defeat the longest-running local action-drama series

There have been lots of instances when ‘The General’s Daughter‘ became #1 in NUTAM but it’s the first time that the Angel Locsin teleserye was able to beat the more than three-year-reign of FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano‘ in Kantar Media.

Last Friday (September 6), ‘The General’s Daughter’ surged to top of TV ratings chart with 32.8%. Coco Martin’s ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ landed on the second spot with 32.4% or 0.8 lower than ‘The General’s Daughter.’

NUTAM data last Friday (September 6) also shows ‘The General’s Daughter’ leading the urban-wide meter with 13.8% followed by ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano’ with 13.7%. Their rival shows ‘Love You Two’ and the finale of ‘Sahaya’ got 7.9%, 11.5% respectively.

Last time The General’s Daughter became number 1 in NUTAM was when Angel Locsin climbed up a building without a stunt double on May 27.

In the episode, Cuatro (Janice Hung) abducts Elai (Arjo Atayde) from the hospital to clean up her mess. Unknown to her, Gen. Maximillano (Nonie Buencamino) found out that she is Tiago’s sleeper agent inside the military. Meanwhile, Tiago (Tirso Cruz III) faces controversy after being accused of ordering the hit on Dante (Emilio Garcia) ahead of the elections. Aware that the scandal might cost him votes, Tiago tries to rig the elections. However, Marcial (Albert Martinez) takes action to foil Tiago’s plans.

The Kapamilya series is also being aired in Myanmar via Sky Net International Drama Channel. The series is also rumored to end this month to give way for Angel Locsin’s preparations for her upcoming wedding.
