Thirty-year-old former Girltrends member Dawn Chang was one of the judges on It’s Showtime for its Sampu-Sample segment last October 8, 2019.
When Dawn voiced her observation about one group’s performance, the Unkabogable Vice Ganda teased Dawn if it was a ‘shady’ statement for Girltrends.
Dawn said, “I can see the technique is there, gustong-gusto ko yun. Kasi ang pagsasayaw, hindi lang puro hataw, kailangan may technique. Hindi tayo puro awra ‘di ba?”
Meanwhile, Vice couldn’t keep himself from teasing Dawn. “Oh Girltrends pinariringan kayo, hanggang ngayon hindi pa tapos sa inyo si Dawn Chang. Gusto ko ‘yun yung hindi puro awra, tas may diin Dawn Chang ha?”
A few hours later, Girltrends member Chie Filomeno posted a dance rehearsal video on her Instagram with the following caption:
“All set. Don’t let people stop you from doing what you love most. Do what you need to do to make you happy. EEEH EEEH EEEEE MO LANG SILA. Hahaha char!”

The rift between Chie and Dawn started last April 2019, when Chie confronted Dawn and Erin Ocampo in regards to a backstabbing issue.
