The husband of actress Dimples Romana has already been discharged from the hospital after he was rushed for throwing up blood last week.
“Boyet (Ahmee) just came out from the hospital today,” the Kapamilya star said during the press conference of the upcoming movie “The Mall, The Merrier” on Monday, December 9.
“Thankfully, my ABS-CBN family and ‘Kadenang Ginto’ family understood. (Even) I missed out one taping. Pero naintindihan nila. They said ‘family first,'” she added.
Last December 3, Dimples wrote on her Instagram that Boyet was rushed again to a hospital after he woke up choking and throwing up blood.
“I got scared. I thought I [was going to] lose my husband,” the actress said in the presscon.
“I’m not exaggerating when I say na anim na Ziplock (bags) ng dugo. Walang tubig. Puro galing sa tiyan niya at lalamunan niya. And I [was] so afraid,” she added.
Boyet was previously admitted to a hospital for throat surgery to address his sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder that occurs when a person’s breathing is interrupted during sleep.
People with untreated sleep apnea stop breathing repeatedly during their sleep.
Dimples said complications from the throat operation arose after her husband ate more than what he was supposed to.
“Dapat soft diet pa kasi siya. Hindi pa kasi fully-healed ‘yung throat from a recent operation,” the actress said.
Because of what happened, Dimples said she found a new appreciation for the Christmas holidays.
“At ngayon, alam mo iba iyong meaning ng Pasko sa akin. Kasi ganon lang pla ‘yon. Pakiramdam ko isang ganon lang (finger snap)… Puwedeng mawala (lahat),” the 35-year-old actress said.
“So nagkaroon ako ng deeper appreciation, even more sa kung anong meron kami. Kung ano iyong dumarating na blessing,” she added.
Dimples and Boyet have been married for 16 years and have two kids, Callie and Alonzo.
Dimples is now widely known for her iconic villain character, Daniela Mondragon, in ABS-CBN’s afternoon drama series, Kadenang Ginto.
She will star in the upcoming comedy film The Mall, The Merrier, alongside Vice Ganda and Anne Curtis.
The movie is Star Cinema’s official entry to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival.
The movie opens on Christmas Day, December 25.
