- Cayetano claimed shortage of PPEs is fake news.
Netizens once again unleashed their wrath on House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano for calling the country’s shortage in PPEs (Personal protective equipment) as a piece of fake news.
Cayetano claims that there are enough PPEs for our frontliners.
This putanginang Alan Peter Cayetano should very publicly apologize for his dangerous fake news that PPE shortage is fake news, and EAT what he said. Otherwise, the safety of our frontliners will be compromised EVEN MORE.

Cayetano on Monday said that we have enough PPEs in the country and that the shortage is just fake news.
“There is a lot of fake news,” Cayetano said.
“Have you heard that people are spreading fake news saying there is a lack of PPEs or personal protective equipment in an area? It’s unfortunate when you propagate fake news. It’s unfortunate for those who truly need PPEs. Now we don’t know where to donate,” he added.
However, Cayetano was contradicted by the real frontliners themselves who attested to the inadequacy of supplies in medical facilities.
Palimos ng PPE. The shortage is REAL and was never fake news!

Reading this makes me want to cry. To all those who are creating guidelines for frontliners that naturally include PPE, please consider this shortage that not only the Philippines is experiencing. https://t.co/FxJ84PoMId

It has been an everyday battle for the country’s medical frontliners and what’s saddening is that they are fighting with a lack of protective gear resulting in several infections and deaths in their field.
Four doctors have already died due to their exposure to positive COVID-19 patients.
Meanwhile, here are other sentiments from netizens regarding Cayetano’s claim.
