Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to affect so many lives locally and globally, AXA Philippines, one of the country’s leading insurance providers, has allied with UNICEF, Philippine Red Cross – Makati Chapter, and Manila Doctors Hospital (Madocs) to support Filipino communities in need, as well as healthcare professionals and hospitals.

“We at AXA are both proud and humbled to come together and reach out to those who need help the most in these tough times,” said Rahul Hora, AXA Philippines president and chief executive officer. “Through our longstanding partnerships with Red Cross, UNICEF, and Madocs, we are able to touch as many communities, health workers, and hospitals as we can.”

AXA Philippines is targeting to send relief assistance to hospitals and people in remote areas and those who are in most need. AXA donated funds to UNICEF that will be used to provide triage tents and personal protective equipment for seven hospitals including in Bataan.

At Madocs, the insurance company offered aid to the program for the deaf by providing translator assistance as well as food packs for 100 deaf patients. It has also given 19 units of respirators to the hospital and these will be donated to public medical centers soon.

AXA Philippines also made a monetary donation to the Philippines Red Cross to procure surgical masks and food packs to all volunteers, which were distributed to 37 hospitals around Metro Manila and Rizal Province.

AXA’s response to this health crisis does not end there. All over the world, AXA has executed important initiatives for its customers and communities. It has extended monetary aid to help the French government fund small businesses and the self-employed, making the company the leading contributor for the fund. In addition, AXA also contributed to fund research on infectious diseases, such as COVID-19. AXA has also pledged to provide 2 million masks to support health professionals. In China and Hong Kong, AXA has launched new products to cover COVID-19 cases, as well as cash allowances in select countries in Asia.

Within AXA entities across the globe, the insurer also launched the AXA Solidarity Response Campaign wherein employees are invited to post on their social media platforms with hashtag #AXASolidarityResponse. Each post will unlock a donation of 5€, which will go towards 101 Fund with 1,200 intensive care units in 60 countries and territories.

As the world fights this deadly virus, AXA is committed to aid and support its customers and their families, as well as health professionals and people in need all over the world, especially the Philippines.
