Arci Muñoz, Kim Atienza, Heart Evangelista, Ken Chan and other celebrities who enjoy the company of their pets amid quarantine

Speaking of pets, some local celebrities shared how their pets have helped them de-stress as that they experienced anxiety and stress amid the Luzon-wide lockdown.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the country, several places, particularly in Luzon, were put under enhanced community quarantine forcing people including celebrities, entrepreneurs, and workers to stay at home.

While others hated the idea of being at home for a long period of time, some took the quarantine as an opportunity to bond with family and relatives, enhance their skills, explore new things, practice a healthy lifestyle, and even spend quality time with their pets.

Speaking of pets, some local celebrities shared how their pets have helped them de-stress as that they experienced anxiety and stress amid the Luzon-wide lockdown.

Descendants of the Sun‘ star Rocco Nacino admitted becoming anxious for his business as well as for his employees due to the ongoing crisis in the country.

Aside from the constant support he’s receiving from his family and girlfriend Melissa Gohing, the 33-year-old artist revealed that his pet dogs—Valentine, Arrow, and Cloud—have helped him relieve stress.

He said, “I think having a dog kung may playmate ka na aso, ito ‘yung perfect time na makapag-bond kasama sila.

“Iba ‘yung nabibigay nilang aura, e. Nakakalma kumbaga. Lalo na sa akin kapag bagong gising ako tapos sila una bumabati sa ‘kin.

“Malaking bagay na it brings a smile to your face pagkagising mo,” he further stated.

Ysabel Ortega advised pet owners to take care of their pets very well and make them feel love like how they make their owners feel.

“Tayo lang ‘yung mundo nila, e. Kung tayo may ibang tao, sila tayo lang so it’s better if we really make them feel that love. And then of course, ‘wag n’yong pabayaan na sobrang mainitan, exercise, ‘wag palaging nakakulong.”

For ‘Madrasta’ star Arra San Agustin, pets really help in killing boredom aside from the fact that they brighten up one’s day without them trying.

Arra said, “It’s such a big help na mayroon kaming dogs kasi mayroon kaming libangan.

“They just brighten up your days. It gives me so much joy. It makes me feel special na natutuwa silang nakikita nila ako.

“It’s so cute. Nakaka-lighten lang ng mood,” she added.

Pets are also the source of joy of ‘My Special Tatay’ lead star Ken Chan who owns not just dogs and cats, as he recently introduced the newest addition to his pet family which is an African Grey Parrot named Pasha.

“Every time na inaalagaan ko sila, nakikita ko sila, nakakatulong sila ngayon sa lockdown. Napapasaya nila ako kahit papaano,” he said.

Arci Munoz is a certified cat lover. She currently has 18 cats.

Fashion icon Heart Evangelista loves both cats and dogs. She also has several rescues.

Before Solenn Heussaff and Nico Bolzico became proud parents, they were already furparents to three different kinds of animals: their dog Pochola, an American Akita; their cat Negroni (a.k.a. El Gato); and their turtles, Patato and Pechuga.

We may not have seen much Insta pics of her pets after she gave birth, but Anne Curtis as well as her husband Erwan Heussaff are loving fur parents to their cats Mogwai and Pixie. Anne also has four dogs—a senior Yorkshire Terrier named Princess, a French Bulldog named Pancho Ze Frenchie, and two Pomeranians, Grizzly and Tofu.

Weather anchor and host of ‘Matanglawin‘ Kim Atienza’s house is a ‘modern zoo’ housing variety of animals.

Reptiles, amphibians, chordates, vertebrates, name it and he has it at home.
