Kapamilya and celebrity vlogger Maricar Reyes thanked ABS-CBN for all the help they did for her career.
In an Instagram post, Maricar recounted how ABS-CBN managed to help her cope and bounce back during the lowest point of her public life.
“ABSCBN. Di ko makakalimutan ang tulong nila sa akin… especially at the lowest point of my public life… nandun sila LAHAT para tumulong.”
Maricar in 2008, figured in a controversial sex video scandal with Hayden Kho. Some people thought it would be the death of her career but ABS-CBN managed to let the issue die down and ‘resurrected’ Maricar to become a viable actress.
She was even given a title role after the controversy via the afternoon drama Your Song Presents: Gaano Kita Kamahal. She also starred as one of the main characters in the Kapamilya vampire series, Imortal and La Luna Sangre.
Meanwhile, she said that while she didn’t expect that Congress would deny ABS-CBN’s franchise, she said she respected their decision since it is up to them to decide.
“I really thought congress would still grant them a franchise, then give the proper consequences for any proven violations…
“But the decision was not up to me, but to the elected officials. I will respect that.”
While she and her husband Richard Poon are Kapamilya stars, Poon is a devoted Duterte supporter who in some social media posts were leaning towards narratives against the network.
In the end, she said she’s praying for all those affected by the Congress’ decision and she hoped that in the future they will all see the very reason why it has to happen.
“I pray for those who are worried about their future 🙏 Please don’t lose hope… there is always a way out of the darkest situations.
“God is just & righteous. And He knows better than we ever will. Let’s trust Him on this.
“In the future we will all understand WHY this happened. Till, then… mahigpit na YAKAP SA LAHAT NG NAGHIHIRAP ngayong panahon ng pandemya —- KAPAMILYA MAN O HINDI ❤”
