Only the ABS-CBN gate at Sgt. Esguerra Avenue gate has closed, not the ABS-CBN Main Building where productions of “It’s Showtime” and “TV Patrol,” among others, are held, contrary to misleading social media posts that created the impression that the iconic Quezon City structure had already shut down.
At the ABS-CBN Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on August 19, real estate and development group head Grant Orbeta said the sold portion of the company’s property would be turned over to Ayala Land in mid-2027.
“After turnover of the sold parcel to Ayala Land by mid-2027, all operating units based in Quezon City will hold office in the Eugenio Lopez Communications Center and the Gina Lopez Building,” Orbeta said.
The closure of the Esguerra Avenue gate therefore does not mean that the Main Building has ceased operations. Employees and production teams continue to work there while ABS-CBN prepares for the eventual consolidation of its Quezon City offices.
Until the mid-2027 turnover, it remains business as usual inside the Main Building, even if one familiar entrance is no longer open.
