Celebrities and netizens commented on President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go’s ‘through thick and thin’ relationship.
During his Station of the Nation Address on Monday, Duterte mentioned how confident he is if he is working with Bong Go.
“If Bong Go will stay, wala akong problems,” Duterte said.
“Because Bong Go is my safe sky. With him, I am at peace,” he added.
These statements truly show deep the relationship is between Duterte and Go.

The connection between Duterte and Bong Go traces back to Go’s grandfather who is Duterte’s best friend.
In an interview with Rappler, Go said that their connection started when Duterte needed someone to pick up his things in Manila. From that point, Go became the “one-man stop” of Duterte.
Go has been beside Duterte for his 4 out of 7 terms as Mayor, one term as Vice Mayor, and some time as a Congressman. He was also one of those people who pushed Duterte to run for Presidency in 2016 which he eventually won.
As Duterte’s executive assistant he became the President’s ”eyes and ears’. Through thick and thin of Duterte’s administration, their tandem has stayed strong.
