Filipino VJ Robi Domingo is disappointed with the outcome of voting this afternoon in the House of Representatives.

On June 10 (Friday), ABS-CBN failed to win the votes of the legislative franchise committee members with 70 votes voting against the renewal of franchise of the network.

He also conveyed his opinions regarding ABS-CBN’s franchise hearing that took place on July 9.
He claimed that those who are against the renewal might probably be lying as the network was supposed to be cleared with all the allegations.

“To the people who are against the franchise renewal: were they all lying?” he said.
Robi followed the franchise hearing of the network and ranted on his Twitter account.

He also pointed out that the opposition’s argument about tax evasion was due to the government’s own fault.

The summation of ABS-CBN franchise renewal hearings was given by Cong. Carlos Isagani Zarate and Deputy Speaker Rodante Marcoleta. They both explained the necessary points and arguments regarding their side. The members of Legislative Franchise are now expected to study the facts and testimonies of both sides for their vote of franchise renewal.
In order to have a more systematic and organized consideration of the arguments discussed by both sides, the committee will create a Technical Working Group (TWG) composed of Cong. Xavier Jesus Romualdo, Deputy Speaker Pablo John Garcia, Cong. Stella Luz Quimbo to study and draft a recommendation on the application for franchise renewal that is to be presented in the meeting of the committee tomorrow.
