On August 12, during a virtual forum for Diego Loyzaga’s contract signing with Viva Artists Agency, the actor shared his views on the huge criticism celebrities receive when voicing out their opinions online.
He showed his support for celebs speaking out and said that it is the right of every person to stand for what they believe in.
He said, “I sit on the fence with this issue because I think it’s right for a person to stand up for themselves, in what you believe in, if may comment na something and para sa iyo hindi tama, magrereact ka di ba?”
However, he emphasized that as a public figure they should choose their battles and be careful not to engage with meaningless arguments for a conversation not to worsen.
“Pero you also have to know when you’re also wasting your energy trying to answer back to this person, reply to this person na he’s not even trying to have a conversation with you.”
“You also have to know when to take a step back and be like okay, you know what, choose your battles, that’s not for me today. I’m happy today, hindi ko papansinin iyan. Pero tama rin na you know if you want to stand up for yourself, stand up for yourself. Make sure you’re not stepping on anybody else’s toes na lang,” he further added.
After two years of being on hiatus, actor Diego Loyzaga is coming back under the Viva Artists Agency.
Previously during his showbiz break, he was admitted to have suffered from depression yet this did not stop him from returning.
And although the industry is experiencing a rough situation right now because of the pandemic, Diego expressed his excitement and happiness to be working again.
He said, “But every single part of me wants to go out there and work again because you know, we’re not getting any younger… I’m just really excited to go back to work.”
