After a year of hiatus from his YouTube vlog, the Head of ABS-CBN TV Production, Director Laurenti Dyogi, commonly referred to as Direk Lauren, posted a video on his thoughts on whether ABS-CBN will return to free TV.

He assured all Kapamilyas that despite the shutdown and retrenchment of employees, ABS-CBN is hopeful and is doing everything it can to return to free TV.
Direk Lauren added that the events that transpired resulting in ABS-CBN’s shutdown are comparable to the trope of the main character in a story, in which the protagonist goes through trials and hardships.
He is hopeful that things will be better not only for ABS-CBN but for the whole nation as well.
“I’m being hopeful, and I’m being positive that things would be better for us, ABS-CBN, and for the nation as well,” said Direk Lauren.
He ended his vlog with the motto, ‘if it doesn’t kill you, it will only make you stronger.’
ABS-CBN’s 25-year franchise renewal was rejected by Congress, resulting in the network’s shutdown and retrenchments. It affected the livelihood of 11,000 employees, and the loss of P3.93 billion profit for the company.
The network has currently shifted its focus to digital platforms that do not require licensing and a franchise. ABS-CBN’s content is available via their YouTube Channel and Facebook page, Kapamilya Online Live.
