In the golden anniversary tribute to the Man behind Star Magic, Johnny Manahan, Robi admitted that Mr. M once made him cry.
He also revealed that Mr. M still scares him up to this day.
Robi recalled how scared he is of Mr. M up to this day. He also thinks of Mr. M as one of the pillars of the entertainment industry.
“Takot ako kay Mr. M hanggang ngayon pag nakikita ko sya iba yung pakiramdam. Kasi si Mr. M pillar ng showbiz. Parang you can’t spell Star Magic, you can’t spell showbiz without mentioning his name. Parang nandun na tataktak showbiz talaga is tatak Mr. M,” said Robi.
He then continued by sharing one of his most memorable moments with Mr. M and admitted that he cried when he was called into the booth while filming one of their shows.
“We were doing this show called Dance Kids. So ang nangyari pinastop taping lahat ni Mr. M. Lahat tigil taping. ‘Paakyatin mo yan si Robi’. Pinapunta ako sa booth next thing you know pagbaba ko umiiyak ako. Umiyak ako. Dahil sabi nya kapag maganda na yung moment wag mo nang pahabain kailangan nasa taas ka lang,” said Robi.
He then noted that Mr. M is the type of person who cares for his talents.
“Doon ko na realize yung tipo ng director na kung may pakialam sa gagawin at gagawin niyang lahat para mas mapabuti hindi lang lang yung programa. Pero yung mga alaga nya. Kaya mahal na mahal ko yan si Mr. M. Solid,” said Robi.
Robi gained popularity when he joined the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition in 2008, where he placed as the runner up in the competition. Then, he joined Star Magic and ventured into acting and hosting.
