ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak formally thanked loyal Kapamilya viewers who “chose to stay with us,” amid the back-to-back crises that the network has faced this year.
At a media event organized by the network’s talent agency ‘Star Magic Shines On,’ Katigbak opened the media event with a speech to thank not only Kapamilya stars but every Kapamilya viewer who chose to remain on the network.
“Our commitment to serve the public is the foundation of our company,” Katigbak said. “And so, even without everything that we’re used to, we have not stopped finding new ways to be in the service of the Filipino.”
He then proceeded to address the stars who for him represent the network in the world ‘outside’,
“Today I want to thank the stars who represent ABS-CBN and on the world outside, Kayo po ang nagbibigay ng liwanag at ligaya sa ating mga Kapamilya,”

He then thanked everyone that despite the network stoppage, a lot of people still believe and chose ABS-CBN as their network, “Thank you for choosing to be part of our mission. Thank you for believing in our company. And thank you for supporting us in our most difficult moments.”
Katigbak even added that working at ABS CBN is not just a ‘career move’ but a calling to serve the Filipino people, with or without the franchise.
“I hope you believe, as we do, that working in ABS-CBN is not just a career move, it’s not just a job; it’s a calling to serve.”
ABS-CBN was refused a fresh broadcast franchise by the Duterte administration and was forced off free television and radio.
This resulted in the removal of thousands of its employees. But this didn’t stop the network to serve its purpose to the Filipino people.
ABS-CBN launched “Kapamilya Online Live,” an online entertainment channel that streams free of charge on YouTube and Facebook. ABS CBN shows are now streaming on Kumu Livestream as well. ABS-CBN also has a blocktime deal with Zoe TV 11 to air shows on the rebranded A2Z.
