2020 might have been the toughest year for ABS-CBN employees. The pandemic took a toll on everyone. Adding to this unfortunate event, the Kapamilya network lost its franchise and was forced to lay off thousands of employees.
However, the resiliency of the broadcasting company remained strong. They were able to still come up with a Christmas Station ID despite the downsides they’ve experienced.
Looking back on their past CSIDs, some celebrities were not present during the “Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya” music video.
This is the result of some transferring to other networks to keep paying the bills.
For the past five years, the It’s Showtime family was always present. However, Billy Crawford was no longer in the 2020 CSID as he transferred to TV5.
Piolo Pascual, who was present in ABS-CBN’s past CSIDs, was also not there. He went over to TV5 after the Kapamilya network lost its franchise. However, he emphasized that he will always be a Kapamilya.
Maja Salvador, Catriona Gray, Dimples Romana, and Beauty Gonzalez were also not in the video. Even Korina Sanchez who was present in the 2019 Christmas Station ID was not there as she is now hosting a TV5 show called Rated Korina. Bayani Agbayani and Alex Gonzaga were also featured in the 2019 CSID but unfortunately, they’re no longer Kapamilyas.
Some former love teams of ABS-CBN were not seen together. Julia Barretto, the partner of Joshua Garcia, was not in the video.
Boy Abunda was not there as well.
Nash Aguas, Zaijan Jaranilla, and Aljur Abrenica were not in the 2020 CSID.
Matteo Guidicelli, now the husband of Sarah Geronimo, was not there as well. However, his wife is with The Voice judges.
“Ikaw ang Liwanag at Ligaya” is the 2020 Christmas Station ID of ABS-CBN which was streamed last Tuesday, December 1. It currently has almost 1.5 million views on YouTube.
