Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. to give life to a new superhero ‘Budots Man’

Sen. Revilla’s campaign went viral during the 2019 senatorial elections with his admittedly catchy Budots video. Some may say that the campaign video may have immensely contributed to his electoral win.

In his interview for his new Kapuso network project, Agimat ng Agila, Sen. Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla Jr. hinted at his next superhero movie project, Budots Man.

He also added the main cast, including actress Arci Muñoz and actor Baron Geisler.

“Actually, we’re about to shoot an action film, ‘Budots Man’. Ready na ang lahat, costumes, set, si Arci Munoz sana ang leading lady ko at si Baron Geisler ang kontrabida,” said Revilla.

However, they opted to pause the production of the movie in line with the COVID-19 pandemic. He also noted that they have children in the cast who couldn’t participate in the film.

“Kaso, biglang nagka-pandemic, so hindi na namin itinuloy. Unang-una, may mga bata sa cast namin, e bawal magtrabaho ngayon ang mga bata. At hirap talaga ang movie industry kasi sarado ang mga sinehan. Look at what happened to the entries sa Metro-Manila filmfest shown via streaming, sobrang hina raw. Hindi pa ready ang Pinoy to just watch movies online,” Revilla added.

Despite the Budots Man movie production on hold, Sen. Bong has his upcoming Kapuso fantaserye, Ang Agimat ng Agila, along with GMA Network’s prime actress Sanya Lopez.

In fact, he recently announced that they finished one whole season of the series through locked-in filming in the mountains of Rizal. The crime fighting-shapeshifting hero graces TV screens this March 2021.
